#7. Robert Lewandowski – Blackburn Rovers
He’s now one of the best strikers on the planet and is the admiration of every manager in world football so it’s surprising that Robert Lewandowski was once in a transfer battle between Sam Allardyce and Tony Mowbray. The young Lewandowski was scoring a bucket load of goals for Lech Poznan and was attracting the attention of Blackburn Rovers and West Brom. Blackburn led the way and the player was due to be flying over for talks before disaster hit. It was 2010 and the Icelandic volcano had erupted, stopping all flights going in and out of the United Kingdom. Lewandowski’s plane was rerouted and the Polish forward signed for Borussia Dortmund where he became one of the best players on the planet.
