Manuel Francisco dos Santo was known as Garrincha and was one of the most famous and popular players to have ever worn the Brazil shirt. Off the field though he led a dark and troubled life. He suffered from alcoholism and eventually dies from cirrhosis of the liver after a mentally troubled final few years. The best thing to remember Garrincha by however is being a two time World Cup winner with Brazil in 1958 and 1962 in what was a golden period for Brazilian football. Unfortunately he was unable to find joy after football and could never deal with life off the pitch.
