#9. Jose Mourinho
In the 2014 book The Special One: The Secret World of Jose Mourinho, Spanish journalist Diego Torres paints a picture of the Portuguese manager unlike anything we’ve seen. The book opens with a story of the time in May 2013. Sir Alex Ferguson had just left Manchester United and the club was appointing a successor. The job had always been Mourinho’s aim in life and he was sure it would be his. David Moyes was named Manchester United manager and the story goes that Mourinho sat alone in his hotel room and openly wept for hours. The Special One has turned on the waterworks on a number of other occasions including an embrace with Marco Materazzi when the manager left Inter Milan in 2010.
