The Estadio Nacional Mane Garrincha was by far the most expensive stadium project for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. In its home of Brasilia, the Mane Garrincha cost £636 million by the time its renovation was finished in 2013. Originally built in 1974, it is the home of club side, Brasilia. The stadium played host to one match in the 2013 Confederations Cup and seven in 2014 World Cup, including the third place match which hosts Brazil lost 3-0 to the Netherlands.
