Another home of one of Europe’s top sides is the Allianz Arena in Munich. The stadium was completed in 2005 and is the home of both Bayern Munich and 1860 Munich. The arena hosted a number of matches in the 2006 World Cup including a semi final between France and Portugal. It also hosted the 2012 UEFA Champions League Final between Chelsea and Bayern Munich. The stadium has a capacity of 75,000 and is known for the plastic panels which cover its exterior. These plastic panels light up with the home team’s colours on match day, making it one of the most recognisable modern stadia.
