#1.Singapore National Stadium, Singapore – £962 million
The most expensive football stadium ever built is the Singapore National Stadium. The £962 million final figure came after soaring costs which were the result of the 2008 financial crisis. Work was completed in 2014 and the stadium has hosted matches for the Singapore National Team as well as ties for the Singapore Cricket and Rugby Teams. The ground was also the setting for the 2015 pre-season friendly Barclays Asia Trophy which saw Everton play Arsenal in the final. Musicians Mariah Carey and One Direction have also played concerts in the arena.
