#10.FNB Stadium, Johannesburg – £310 million
The FNB Stadium was known as ‘Soccer City’ during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and was constructed at a cost of £310 million. The FNB Stadium was the main arena for the 2010 tournament and hosted both the opening ceremony and the final between the Netherlands and eventual winners, Spain. The ground holds over 84,000 fans and is the home of local team, The Kaizer Chiefs. The FNB Stadium also hosted a number of matches in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations including the final between Nigeria and Burkina Faso. U2, One Direction, and Rihanna have also played shows at the stadium.
