Manchester United urged to re-sign Defender

SourceAccording to the (Express), Paul McGuinness who was Michael Keane’s coach at Manchester United’s youth team has urged Jose Mourinho to re-sign former Man Utd and England international defender. He praised the younger and said that he definitley has what it takes to be a Manchester United player.

Michael Keane who was sold in 2015 by Dutch manager Louis van Gaal for £2.5 million signed his first professional contract on his 18th birthday in 2011. He was loaned out multiple times to the likes of Leicester City, Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and finally Burnley who he eventually signed for permanently. The defender’s knowledge of the game has rapidly improved since his time at Burnley.

Michael Keane started his youth career with the Republic of Ireland u17 and u19 until he decided to join England playing in the u19, u20, u21 and eventually the first team.Michael Keane has a twin brother who also played for Manchester United even before Michael Keane.

He signed for them back in 2007 and making his first team debut in 2011. He was like his younger brother loaned out multiple times to Wigan Athletic, Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston North End and now currently at Hull City. This will be a hard deal for Man Utd to secure. He has finally put himself back on the football radar at Burnley. A move back to Old Trafford will be considered as a risk. But probably one that will be worth it.
