Alexis Sanchez Opens Transfer Negotiations with European Giants

German sports magazine SportBild reports today that Alexis Sanchez has told his agent to start transfer negotiations with Bayern Munich, as he gets set for a move away from the Emirates this summer. The German giants are looking to revamp their side after failing to win the Champions League and DFB-Pokal this season, with Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry also on the wish list.

Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich also works for the player’s fellow countryman and Bayern star Arturo Vidal. He is already familiar with the club officials, who were in attendance during Arsenal’s recent FA Cup semi-final win, and the conversations have reportedly started for the summer transfer — with “numbers being exchanged” between the two parties according to the report.

Arsene Wenger has recently ruled out selling the Chilean to a Premier League rival, telling reporters this won’t be a similar case to Robin Van Persie. “I don’t think that you would sell him to any Premier League club that is for sure. The question is more, Why would you sell him to another [Premier League] club? You want to be as strong as you can be, and not strengthen the other teams,” he said.

The manager’s public statement raised possibilities of Sanchez moving to a foreign club, with Juventus, PSG, and Atletico Madrid among his options should he choose to leave England. The player only has a year left in his contract, and recently hinted at exit by saying he needs titles to feel motivated.
