Replacing Sven Goran Eriksson, Andre Villas-Boas has become Shanghai SIPG’s next football manager in November 2016. At just 38 years of age, it would be fair to say that Villas-Boas is a young football manager and we shouldn’t forget that we’re talking about a manager who perhaps played a great role in nurturing the career of Gareth Bale. It would be fair to say that he was judged harshly at Chelsea and Tottenham, probably because it is a very competitive league. While we may not see him more in Europe, it is certainly a good news for Chinese footballing society that they’re getting such a great manager.
