#3. George Reynolds (Darlington)
While he took charge of a bottom league side back in 1999, nobody could ever figure out why George Reynolds felt the urge to build a stadium with a capacity of 25000 people for a club like Darlington. The Club had an average attendance of just 2000 people and after spending 18 Million Pounds on their new home ground, there was no way back financially for Darlington.
When Reynolds wanted to attain Premier League promotion with Darlington, things didn’t turn out as such. So while he got arrested in 2004 before being convicted of money laundering charges a year later, things turned soar for Darlington. The Club moved into administration, before suffering four consecutive relegations as they had to start their outfit with a new name in the eighth tier of English Football.
