#8. John Fredriksen – Valerenga I.F. – £6.57 billion
Perhaps the least known entry on the list is John Fredriksen. Fredriksen made his money in oil and the Norwegian magnate owns the world’s largest fleet of oil tankers. Born to a working class family, Fredriksen made his money during the 1980s and is perhaps as eco-friendly as an oil magnate can be. Fredriksen is valued at £6.75 billion and has long been the owner of Valerenga I.F., a side in the Norwegian top flight. Valerenga finished seventh this season and aren’t exactly using the financial clout of their wealthy owner.
