#9. Dmitry Rybolovlev – AS Monaco – £5.82 billion
Another Russian oligarch taking over a European club, only this one didn’t go quite as well. In 2011 Dmitry Rybolovlev took over Ligue 2 side AS Monaco and set his sights on the Ligue 1 title. Monaco achieved promotion and spent big on signings Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez but finished second behind PSG. Monaco were forced into selling many of their big name players in order to comply with Financial Fair Play and have since dropped down the Ligue 1 table. Despite spending big, Rybolovlev still has an estimated net worth of £5.82 billion.
