#3. Bramall Lane: 1862
It is one of the most historic stadiums in world football and incidentally, one of the oldest. Bramall Lane was originally a cricket ground and was built in 1855 but didn’t host its first football match until 1862 between Sheffield F.C. and Hallam F.C. The stadium also hosted the first ever football tournament played in England. The Youdan Cup was played for the first time in 1867 and featured local teams of Sheffield. It was played by Sheffield Rules and featured Rouges, whereby in an event of a tied match, the side with the most shots which end up within four yards of the goal win the match. Bramall Lane has been the home of Sheffield United since 1899 and has a capacity of over 32,000.
