#4. The Racecourse: 1864
The oldest stadium in Wales is The Racecourse Ground in Wrexham. Built way back in 1807, it was originally a cricket ground but football has been played at the Racecourse since 1864. Wrexham Football Club was apparently formed in a pub in 1864 and the Racecourse has been the club’s home ever since. The ground is undoubtedly historic, having played host to the first ever match of the Welsh National Team in 1877. It has also hosted more Wales international matches than any other ground. The club and stadium have had many financial problems in recent years but nobody can doubt the historical importance of the Racecourse Ground.
