#5. Deepdale: 1875
Deepdale is the home of Preston North End and has been ever since 1878. It was originally used for sports other than football but has been used for the sport ever since Preston North End F.C. was formed in 1880. Deepdale was built on the side of an old farm and has naturally gone through much renovation work down the years. Deepdale was one of the few grounds in England to ever construct an artificial pitch in the 1980s. It was massively unpopular and lasted under a decade. The ground now has a fully functioning grass pitch and has a capacity of over 23,000. All four stands are named after famous ex-players and teams.
