8. Brigg Town F.C. (1864)
The Brigg Town football club or the BTFC is the oldest surviving football club in the city of Lincolnshire. It was founded in the year 1864, and hence comes at the 8th spot in our countdown. But if you consider the non-league system then they would have been at the 4th spot. They currently play in Northern Premier League Division One South, which is recognized by the FA as the base level of the footballing level (8th level). Historically and in terms of accomplishments, there isn’t anything to brag about this club. But to have kept a football club running for these many years is in itself a terrific accomplishment.
