#10. Celtic 1967
Celtic dominated Scottish football for close to a decade but it was the 1967 team which truly shone across Europe. Celtic hadn’t won the Scottish title in over a ten year when Jock Stein took over in 1965, but that quickly changed. Stein won the league in his first season, the first of nine consecutive league titles which Celtic won in the period. Their peak was undoubtedly 1967, when the club side won every competition they entered. The ‘Lisbon Lions’ won the Scottish League title, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup, Glasgow Cup, and the European Cup which made them the first British side to triumph on the continent. Celtic’s achievements are made even more impressive considering the fact that fifteen of their sixteen players were born within ten miles of Celtic Park.
