10. Gareth Barry
Being a holding midfielder for his team and his nation, Gareth Barry is perhaps awfully slow to be a midfielder. The kind of pace he has in his game would make him more suited to become a centre back or a central defensive midfielder in the 4-3-3 formation. However, if it were not for his vision and his passing capabilities, Gareth Barry would have perhaps remained as a defender. Having said that, it is remarkable that Barry, being slow himself, still manages pretty comfortably to play in a league that’s renowned for its pace and physicality. He comes at the 10th spot in our countdown.
