10. Jaap Stam (Netherlands)
Jaap Stam was one hell of a defender for Netherlands and for the clubs he played for, such as Manchester United and Inter Milan. He would be a very moody player and as a striker, you’d be in mercy of his mood if you want to save both your legs. He wouldn’t care if his tackle broke them into pieces. He was strong, he was tall and he had great interception skills, making him an almost perfect centre back. However, it wouldn’t be just the players upon whom he’d lash his mood, but sometimes he’d target the managers as well, which is perhaps why Sir Alex had to sell him (which he still regrets).
