One man who didn’t calm things down off the pitch was Garrincha. The legendary Brazilian winger was an outstanding player for his national side and was a part of the Brazil sides that won the 1958 and 1962 World Cups. He was the talented rogue to Pele’s golden boy personality with the press of the day after a lifetime spent in the spotlight for his playboy lifestyle. Garrincha was the father of 14 children, 8 of whom were born to his ex-wife. Garrincha even apparently lost his virginity at the age of 14 to a goat but the Brazilian’s life was cut short due to alcoholism. The legendary Botafogo player died in 1983 at the age of 49.
