#10. Kolo Toure – 6 months
He has played for both Arsenal and Liverpool but it was during his time at Manchester City when Kolo Toure received a six month ban from football. In 2011 Toure had been an important part of a City side which was looking to win its first league title for over 40 years. That all changed once after he was banned from football for six months. The defender tested positive for a controlled substance during a routine drugs test and was consequently banned. Toure is teetotal and claimed that the substance was neither performance enhancing nor recreational but the defender’s ban was upheld.
