#2. Samuel Eto’o ($27 million)
Currently playing with Antalyaspor in the Turkish Superlig, the legendary Cameroonian striker has enjoyed an illustrious career which puts him on part with African footballing legends. However, it appears that Eto’o is more than just a rich footballer craving to buy expensive mansions. Last year, the former Barcelona man coughed up $27 million to purchase an historic property in Portofino near Genoa, Italy. It is rumored that the luxury coastal villa is jinxed by the curse of Pharaoh, Tutankhamun. The house was once owned by Lord Carnarvon who discovered the Pharaoh’s tomb inside it. We must say that Eto’o is a brave man for buying a house where former inhabitants have died in strange circumstances.
