#10. Andy Carroll
Carroll emerged as a hot young prospect during a turbulent time for Newcastle United and helped the Magpies to better days. Consistent performances and some excellent goals forced Liverpool to spend a lot of money on him. The young Englishman came as a replacement for Fernando Torres but was clearly out of his depth at Merseyside. With a failed spell with the Reds, Carroll eventually joined West Ham United where he has shown no signs of resurgence so far.
