Fans of Paris Saint-Germain should count their blessings for they have the investment made by the Qatar Sports Investments to thank for their recent success. By far the richest club in France, PSG is also the most successful club in the country with its 31 titles. The club has a plethora of talented footballers at its disposal including Marco Verrati, Angel Di Maria, Hatem Ben Arfa, Julian Draxler, Lucas Moura, Javier Pastore, and Blaise Matuidi etc. No wonder they manage to keep hold of the possession with ease. Although the team currently occupies the third position in the French League at the moment, we still expect the team to fully mount a serious challenge for the league title.
#9. Villarreal CF
Villarreal has been performing exceptionally well in La Liga in this season. The Spanish outfit has conceded the least number of goals in La Liga thus far. They have only let their opponents score 12 goals in 17 matches. In the current league season, the club has a better defensive record than Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid; that, in itself, is a remarkable achievement. In addition to that, they have also made marked improvement in their passing. Although the team hasn´t been able to score too many goals, they have enjoyed possession majority of the times, thus, limiting their opponents to a few scoring opportunities.
The Italian outfit, Juventus, is the reigning champions of Italy. Juventus have won the league for consecutively for the past 5 seasons. There is a reason why the club has managed to achieve such monumental success; the team is simply a great passing team. Coached by Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus currently leads the Serie A table and looks set to win the league again. In the European scene, the club has managed to win the coveted, Champions League title, twice, and the UEFA Cup thrice! So, what makes Juventus a great team? Well, they have several players that are masters at passing the ball and keeping possession including Marchisio, Sami Khedira, Pjanic, and Hernanes etc.
#7. Manchester United
Manchester United is one of the most successful English clubs in the Premier League era. In their illustrious history, the Red Devils have won 20 League Titles, 12 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 3 Champions League titles and 1 UEFA Cup. The club has undergone several transformations since the retirement of their former esteemed manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. United haven´t been able to perform as well as they did during the Fergie years. However, with a relatively new manager in Jose Mourinho leading the squad, the club has been able to play some breathtaking football in recent times. If they continue down this road, the squad will soon be able to replicate the winning ways of Fergie time.
#6. Manchester City
The blue half of Manchester is managed by the talented manager, Pep Guardiola. Any follower of the game knows that Pep´s teams heavily rely on possession to win matches; Manchester City, too, is not an exception. However, Pep hasn´t fully been able to impart his tactical nous in the Premier League with City currently occupying the 5th position in the league. However, we are certain that City will only get better with more time under Pep. Currently, the team is only behind Liverpool FC in terms of passes made. According to Forbes, Manchester City is the world´s sixth most valuable football club; the team is estimated to be worth a whopping $1.92 billion.
