According to the Spanish media outlet Diario Gol, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is “livid” with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi for reportedly telling Diego Simeone and Atletico Madrid players to beat Los Blancos on Saturday via WhatsApp messages. Barcelona need Real to slip up in the Madrid derby against Atletico, in order to catch up to them in terms of points.
Messi is appearing to do all he can for his club to gain an advantage in the league. He is believed to have said, “Let’s see if you can do it at the Bernabeu,” to Atletico players. Ramos has since found out about the exchange between his rivals and is very unhappy with Messi for what he considers “playing dirty.”
Atletico haven’t lost at Santiago Bernabeu in a league fixture since December of 2012. The two teams are separated by ten points currently on the table. However, with a victory on Saturday, Los Rojiblancos can close the gap and enter the title race as surprise contenders.
Meanwhile Barcelona will travel to Andalusia to take on Malaga as a late fixture, also on Saturday. The Catalans have won their last three games convincingly, scoring 11 and conceding three. They will need to continue with their hot streak in order to defend their title. The club currently trails Real by just two points, although with an extra game played.
