According to the (Manchester Evening News), It seems that Luke Shaw cannot get break both injury wise and in terms of winning Mourinho’s favor in the United first team squad. Luke Shaw, who was out for near the entirety of last season with a double leg fracture, has suffered another serious injury in his foot in the game against Swansea. His season has ended, but he barely got any play time to start with.
Mourinho was particularly tough on Shaw this season, saying that he lacked the drive that he desires in his players. He is telling the truth too, at least as far as he is concerned. Mourinho was extremely hard on Mkhitarayan, a new signing who many believed would feature in almost every game this season. Mkhitaryan was sidelined for a good portion of the season until he proved his worth to Mourinho.
Antony Martial was also subject to Mourinho’s criticism, despite being United’s best player last season. The Frenchman had to fight to earn his spot back on the squad, which simply shows the Mourinho doesn’t care about your past or your transfer cost, you have to want your spot on the first team.
With another injury in the midst of Mourinho criticism, it seems imminent that Shaw will leave United in the summer transfer window. His suitors? None other than Manchester City, who are in need of an attacking left back. Guaridola, Mourinho’s greatest rival, will have to make a bid of at least £20 million, but it is far more likely that they will have to pay a much higher price, being the rivals across town and all. Shaw is still a rising star with much potential, is Mourinho being to hasty with his judgement of the left back? A sale to City could prove a move that will haunt United should Shaw find his form again.
