According to the Spanish news outlet Don Balon, Jurgen Klopp is still interested in the services of Real Madrid ace Isco Alarcon and will make a last-ditch attempt to lure him from the Spanish capital in the summer. The Spaniard’s contract is running out next year and Madrid have offered him a generous new deal that will tie him down until 2022.
There have been rumors circling around that the Reds will lose out their star Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona once the season ends, and Klopp has been looking for proper replacements to take his place. The German has targeted Isco, who has been struggling to get minutes at Madrid, as the priority signing in the summer to bump up the midfield.
However, despite the fact that he has a limited role in the club, the 25-year-old is close to penning a new deal at Madrid. The current World Champions have offered Isco £5 million-a-year worth of wages to stay, a figure that would put him just below the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema in the salary stakes.
Barcelona and Manchester City have also expressed interest in the Spanish international, besides Liverpool. The player himself, though, admitted earlier this month that he is happy to remain at Madrid.
