Samuel Eto’o was at one point the highest paid player in the world when he signed for Anzhi Makhachkala in 2011 for a salary of almost $22 million a year AFTER taxes. His take home these days is a much more modest amount, but he is still scoring goals and changing games like he was in his prime. The Cameroonian has done it all at club level, becoming the first player in history to win the Champions League in back to back years with different teams, doing so with Barcelona (2008-09) and Inter Milan (2009-10). Eto’o also had a hugely successful spell at Chelsea, where he scored nine goals in 21 appearances in the league, before moving on and winding down his career.
