Talking about strikers, Alan Shearer was perhaps England’s best striker in the modern days. Sure, his records have been toppled by Wayne Rooney but still, it was surprising how he never won the Ballon d’Or, given the fact that he was Premier League’s most prolific scorer for a long time. Shearer was a true English striker, because he was fast, he was strong, he could score from either foot and he was prolific. If only England had him in the 2010/14 World Cup, they would be the strongest contender to the title, just by his mere presence in the pitch alone!
