According to the (The Mirror), Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is eyeing to upgrade his midfield in the next transfer window. After seeing Monaco dump Premier League rivals Manchester City from the Champions League, it seems the Italian has found his man on the French side.
Tiemoue Bakayoko has performed incredibly well for Monaco this season. His performance has garnered not only attention from Chelsea, but also other major clubs such as Manchester United. Bakayoko scored one of the goals that put City to bed in the Champions League, and seems to favor a move to the Premier League amidst several rumors about his transfer.
Chelsea were rejected by midfielder Radja Nainggolan last transfer window, but Bakayoko is a great alternative as he is only 22 and looks as if he can only increase his skill set. Such is the considered value of the player that he also got his senior national call up since Paul Pogba’s recent injury.
Things are certainly looking exciting for Bakayoko, as this season is proving to be his breakout year. The 22 year old moved from Stade Rennais to Monaco for €1,250,000, but his current market value is estimated at €7,500,000. And given that there is another two years left on his contract, one can imagine that the actual figure involved in his transfer will be marginally higher that his current market worth. Should he join Chelsea, Bakayoko will join the midfield with N’golo Kante, a combination that will most definitely prove dynamic next season.
