Big news have came out of Germany today involving a pair of Bayern Munich stars in Douglas Costa and Franck Ribery, with reports saying they were involved in a training ground bust-up. This comes in a bad time for the Bundesliga giants, who have crashed out of Champions League and DFB Pokal recently.
According to ilBiancoNero, Ribery made a hard tackle on Costa, who responded angrily. The pair had to be separated before it turned into a fist fight, and the manager Carlo Ancelotti seemed unhappy with the Frenchman’s actions. With the Bundesliga title already clinched, Bayern have nothing more to play for and therefore Ribery’s unnecessary aggressive play in the training ground seemed questionable for others.
Meanwhile Costa has been recently linked with a move away from Allianz Arena, as Juventus, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur are emerging as contenders to sign the winger. He has been reduced to a bench role when Arjen Robben and Ribery are healthy, which the Brazilian does not enjoy.
Speaking back in March about his situation at the club, the 26-year-old said, “I speak to the club often. We talk about my situation, if I’ll stay here or if I have to find another team to play for. I’m not always that happy here, but soon we will find a situation.” With this latest incident, he might finally force a move out of Germany come the summer transfer window.
