Source According to the German magazine Kicker via AS, Bayern Munich have decided on the future of Renato Sanches and are prepared to sell the starlet if they can recoup the price they paid for him last summer. Manchester United have been closely linked with the player, with Jose Mourinho being a fan of his compatriot.
The 19-year-old arrived to Bayern last summer for €35 million after series of impressive performances at Benfica. He then went on to enjoy a very successful Euro 2016 campaign, where he helped Portugal win their first ever major trophy. However, life in Germany has not been good for the youngster, as he has only made 25 appearances across all competitions under Carlo Ancelotti.
This led to him making a frustrated rant few days ago. When asked by the Chilean press on how his season has gone, Sanches answered, “It was not very good, but the next season is sure to be better. I was expecting more, of course, but I’m confident that the future will be better.” The midfielder did not hide the fact that he wants to play more next season, indicating he might be open for a move if it is necessary for him to get on the pitch.
United were just few steps away from bringing the Portuguese to Old Trafford last season, with the club holding series of talks with Benfica and his agent Jorge Mendes. However, Sanches reportedly rejected a move to England and opted to go with Bayern instead. Due to current circumstances, the player is much more likely now to accept the move if the club can offer him more football.
