According to the latest reports from Spain, Barcelona have come up with a sneaky plan to bring in Isco Alarcon from Real Madrid. The 24-year-old will apparently be paid €20 million to run down his contract, which is set to expire in 2018, and make a move as a free agent to the Catalan giants.
Isco has been long rumored to leave Madrid and targeted by likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Since coming over from Malaga in the summer of 2013 for a big money move, the Spanish international has failed to earn a starting spot at the club and has to settle with a super sub role.
The technical ability to not only pick out perfect passes but also to dribble past multiple defenders makes Isco an attractive option for Barcelona midfield. The lucrative offer has already gotten the player’s attention and with him openly admitting in the past of his admiration for the Catalan club, the possibilities are there for a shock transfer.
Should he make the move, Isco will join an exclusive list of players switching directly from the two eternal arrivals. Others who have done the unthinkable include Luis Enrique, Luis Figo, Michael Laudrup, and Bernd Schuster. Barcelona are also keeping their eyes out on a number of other midfielders including Thiago Alcantara and Marco Verratti.
